This house is one of the first Art Nouveau projects in Āgenskalns by the distinguished architect Alfrēds Ašenampf. Mr Ašenampf was a pioneer of Art Nouveau in Riga and also lived in this area. His house was located opposite Švarcmuiža, while his office was on Kalnciema iela. He contributed many excellent wooden architectural buildings to his neighbourhood; however, unfortunately, most of them have already been lost. Nevertheless, one of the most beautiful has been preserved. It is this very charming house at Kristapa ielas 2.
