The building at 53 Dzirnavu Street was built in 1898, survived a century's turn and historical currents, and has housed famous writers, politicians, and philosophers. The apartment walls are saturated with the scent of history but renewed with a modern taste. In the 1930s, the house was home to the talented German philosopher and master of literature Walter Benjamin, whose works inspired 53 Dzirnavu Street to be named in a special way – Benjamin's Romance.
